Every ring, pendant, or other item with an engravable surface becomes a personal statement when you add the names, dates, symbols, or words that matter most to you.
How It Works
With Liam & Avery, creating your personalized piece of jewelry is a simple and seamless process:
1. Choose Your Piece
Most of our jewelry can be personalized with an engraving at no additional cost. From engagement rings to everyday pendants, hundreds of styles are ready to personalize. Look for the “Free Engraving” tag, or you’ll see an “Add Free Engraving” button on the product page.
2. Add Your Personal Touch
Click the "ADD FREE ENGRAVING" button on your chosen product. Enter your custom text (character limits vary by item) and select your preferred font style. On select items, you can also add your custom black-and-white artwork. Preview your personalization to ensure it looks exactly as you want it.
3. Add to Cart and Checkout
Once you're happy with your preview, add the item to your cart. During checkout, you'll see your personalization choices displayed for final confirmation before we begin personalizing your item.
4. We Craft and Ship
Our team carefully engraves and inspects each piece by hand before packaging it in our elegant, gift-ready jewelry box. Your personalized jewelry typically ships within 1 to 3 business days.
What jewelry can you personalize?
The options available are displayed on the individual product page, allowing you to view what is available. We offer free personalization on any item that has an engravable surface, which includes most of our products:
Inside of Rings
- Include names, initials, or coordinates
- Add your wedding dates or anniversary dates
- Write a short, meaningful phrase
- Available on most rings wider than 2mm at the base.
Outside of Rings
- Available on select ring styles
- Perfect for symbols, initials, or design elements
- Character limits vary by ring width and style
Select Pendant Necklaces
- Includes pendant backs, sides, or fronts, depending on design
- Great for birthdates, initials, names, or meaningful words
- Add the coordinates where you first met, or short phrases
Select Bracelets
- Included on charm plates, medallions, or band surfaces
- Add names, dates, or inspiring words
- Some designs are perfect for symbols and monograms
Select Earrings
- Available on back plates or designated engraving areas
- Initials, names, symbols, or small meaningful words. Birthstone options are also available on select items
- Perfect for subtle personalization
- Many styles allow each earring to have its own engraved message

- Sans-Serif (Helvetica) - Clean, modern lettering
- Serif (Bookman) - Classic, traditional style
- Typewriter (Bulletin) - Vintage, distinctive character
- Fancy Script (Edwardian) - Elegant, formal script
- Cursive (Cursive Script) - Flowing, romantic style
- Handwriting (Lucida) - Personal, casual feel
Some items offer additional font options, and we will do our best to accommodate custom font requests for an additional fee. Contact us for more information on custom typography.

Common Questions
Is personalization really free?
Yes. Free engraving is included with most of our styles at no additional cost. Look for the "Free Engraving" badge.
Can I preview my engraving before placing my order?
Yes! When you click "ADD FREE ENGRAVING" on any eligible product, you can preview your personalized text, font choice, and placement before adding the item to your cart. Please note that the preview and final engraving may differ slightly.
How does engraving affect shipping time?
All engravings are completed in a separate process before your piece is packaged and shipped. This process is completed within 1 to 3 business days, although this can be longer during popular holiday seasons (Christmas, Valentine's Day, etc.).
What if I make a typo in my engraving request?
Double-check your spelling and dates before submitting your order to ensure accuracy. We will engrave exactly what you provide, and once engraving begins, we cannot make changes.
What characters and symbols can I use?
We support all standard letters, numbers, basic punctuation, and common symbols like hearts (♥), infinity (∞), and plus signs (+). Special characters or extensive symbols may not be available, but we will do our best to accommodate any special requests.
Can I return or exchange personalized jewelry?
Due to the custom nature of engraved pieces, personalized jewelry is a final sale and cannot be returned for a refund. However, you can return your item for an exchange or store credit within our return window, or for a qualified size exchange on any of our rings. If there's an error on our part, we'll make it right immediately. Plus, all of our products are covered by our lifetime warranty.
Do you offer rush engraving?
For time-sensitive occasions, contact our customer care team. We'll do our best to accommodate special timing requests when possible.
